Lawn Scarifying / Dethatching
Scarification (dethatching) is the removal of surface thatch, a thick organic layer of material that lays on top of the soil causing the water to run off. Fertilizers find it hard to penetrate the thick layer resulting in your lawn starving for nutrients.
The benefits of removal of this material:
- Allows water and fertilizer to penetrate soil.
- Allows air flow, reducing fungal diseases.
- Removes hiding places for grubs and insects.
- Allows your grass to grow back stronger and greener.
- Removes moss. If left untreated can spread over running your lawn.
Lawn Reseeding
Reseeding after a scarify can sometimes be necessary.
Your lawn may be left with bald patches caused by grass grub. These will not recover and need to be resowed.
We can offer this service if desired. We will try to match your existing seed or apply a mixed grass seed (landscape mix).

Lawn Repairs
We offer a full repair service. From scarifying, applying fertilizer, reseeding, or finishing with lawn mix.
The process included:
- Scarifying: The removal of the dead grass.
- Adding Fertilizer (replacement of nutrients and giving your lawn a boost).
- Applying grass seed (oversowing and repairing damaged lawns).
- Spreading Lawn Mix: We use this product because it doesn’t smother your lawn. The lawn mix is light, and allows your lawn to grow through it. We use a spreading tool that drags the lawn mix over your lawn. If you have a hole or divot it will settle in. If your lawn is smooth, it will travel with the spreader. It gives an even finish to your lawn and gives the grass seed something to hold on to as it grows.
Lawn Fertiliser
You have the choice either organic ( Seasol) or Scotts lawn builder insect and grub control.
This is an excellent choice if you have grub as you have a product that does two jobs in one.
It fertilizes your lawn and also controls the grub in your lawn.
